Dr. Shamim Ahmed joined Agno Pharma as Executive Vice President, Pharmaceutical Development in January 2020. Prior to joining Agno, he was the President of Square Pharma Inc. and Chief Scientific Officer & Chief Operating Officer of Square Pharmaceutical Limited. Dr. Ahmed held senior level positions in several large pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer (Sr. Director, Development Operations), Novartis/Sandoz (Head of External Development), Covidien (Global Project Leader), Merial (Sr. Manager, Global Projects) and Wyeth (Group Leader, Formulation Development).

Dr. Ahmed is a Globally experienced pharmaceutical professional with over 30 years of industrial experience in Formulation, Drug Delivery, External Drug Development & Manufacturing, Project Management/Leadership, Regulatory, Business Development, Alliance Management, Strategy, etc. Dr. Ahmed possesses extensive experience in global contract development and manufacturing.

Dr. Ahmed received a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Master of Pharmacy from Dhaka University. He obtained an MBA from University of Missouri, St. Louis. Dr. Ahmed earned a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science from Kumamoto University, Japan. He also completed post-doctoral research at the University of Kentucky, USA. Dr. Ahmed has over 30 patents and scientific publications including review articles.
