Drawbacks of Traditional Cryomilling

One of the major drawbacks of traditional cryomilling is the size of equipment needed for complete submersion and milling of the target material. These equipment have historically scaled in size to the size of the target amount being milled.

To address this, Agno Pharma has developed a semi-continuous cryomilling process that has successfully been used to support development and cGMP programs.

Capabilities of Agno Pharma’s Cryomilling

Agno Pharma is at the forefront of utilizing innovative Cryomilling processes to support the development of Long-Acting Implantables.

Key Capabilities of Agno Pharma’s Cryomilling Expertise:

  1. Range of Material: Agno Pharma’s customized cryomilling process can be used to mill a wide range of polymeric materials like Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA), Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU), Poly(lactic-co-glycolic Acid) (PLGA), Polycaprolactone (PCL) and other engineered polymers.
  2. Enhanced Material Properties: The benefits of cryomilling vary according to unique industries and their applications. In the pharmaceutical industry, cryomilling offers certain key enhancements. Some examples are improved homogeneity, enhanced material flowability and increased production safety.
